On April 13, 2021, the international standard ISO 37301:2021 "Compliance Management Systems — Requirements with Guidance for Use" (hereinafter referred to as "ISO 37301") was officially published and came into effect. This marks an updated, replacement standard following the 2014 implementation of ISO 19600, the "Guidance on Compliance Management Systems" (hereinafter referred to as "ISO 19600"). Unlike ISO 19600, ISO 37301 has directly become a Category A management system requirements standard, enabling organizations to undergo internal and external audits—as well as third-party certification—by declaring compliance with this new framework.
To help readers understand the key highlights of the recent overhaul of ISO 37301, we’ve compiled the following comparison table outlining the differences between the two versions of the standard for your reference.
