Editor's Note: In the wake of the digital revolution, electronic evidence has emerged as the "king of evidence" in judicial practice, while the deep integration of artificial intelligence is propelling legal operations into a new era of intelligent transformation. To align with the national call for strengthening the convergence of information technology and legal studies, Renmin University of China School of Law is officially launching the fourth session of its "Advanced Training Workshop on Electronic Evidence and Intelligent Case Handling" (2025 cohort).


This session of the training program is hosted by the Law School of Renmin University of China, with co-organization from Beijing Xinglai Law Firm. The course brings together leading experts from both theoretical and practical fields, focusing on cutting-edge topics such as electronic evidence rules, big data analytics, blockchain-based evidence preservation, and AI-driven evidence review. Through case studies and hands-on exercises, it empowers legal professionals to master the core skills needed for intelligent case management. The first course will be delivered by Professor Liu Pinxin from the Law School of Renmin University of China delivers a lecture titled "Principles of Electronic Evidence Data Fields and Analysis of Notable Cases." Driven by a shared interest in the digital transformation of legal practice, Professor Liu Pinxin has chosen to join Xinglai and will lead the establishment and oversee the operations of Xinglai's Electronic Data Business Center. Professor Liu has dedicated over two decades to the field of digital evidence. This collaboration will leverage his profound academic expertise and extensive practical experience, helping Xinglai Law Firm achieve a comprehensive upgrade in its digital evidence practice, enhance its intelligent case-handling capabilities, and deliver even higher-quality legal services to clients—while also contributing to the innovative application of legal technology in judicial practice.

Principles of the Electronic Evidence Data Field and Analysis of Notable Cases

Liu Pinxin

Professor at the Law School of Renmin University of China and doctoral supervisor; part-time professor at the National Prosecutors College and Central South University of Finance and Law; Deputy Director of the Research Center for Criminal Law Science at Renmin University of China; forensic expert at the Forensic Evidence Technology Identification Center; and attorney at Beijing Xinglai Law Firm, among other roles. He is the author of the six-volume series "Law of Electronic Evidence," among other works.

In the AI era, how can electronic evidence drive the intelligent transformation of judicial case handling?

The field theory originating from physicist Faraday holds significant guiding value and also reveals the intrinsic principles underlying some of today's landmark cases involving electronic evidence.

Professor Liu Pinxin kicked off the lecture with "Principles of Electronic Evidence Data Fields and Analysis of Notable Cases," where he will explain the phenomena of the First, Second, and Third Data Fields in electronic evidence. Using impactful examples from both traditional and cybercrime cases, he’ll share expert knowledge and practical techniques—highlighting in particular a unique, easy-to-learn yet profoundly effective method that can dramatically enhance one’s expertise.

The course is primarily taught by the "Renmin University of China Electronic Evidence Research Team," which has long been dedicated to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of law and technology, seamlessly integrating theory with practical application.

Fee Structure

The training fee is 7,980 yuan per person (including instructor fees, materials, certification costs, and other expenses), but does not cover accommodation, meals, or transportation costs.

Preferential policies:

Alumni of Renmin University of China (School of Law), or three or more individuals from the same organization (including exactly three), who register together will receive a 10% discount (CNY 7,180).

More than 10 people (including 10) from the same organization (or group) who register will receive a 20% discount (CNY 6,380).
