This competition was organized by the Criminal Law Research Association of the Dongcheng District Lawyers Association, attracting 34 outstanding young lawyers from five districts: Dongcheng, Tongzhou, Daxing, Shunyi, and Huairou. The event was chaired by Lawyer Zhang Xuhua, Deputy Director of the Criminal Law Research Association of the Dongcheng District Lawyers Association. During the opening ceremony, Zhang Shiguo, Vice President of the Dongcheng District Lawyers Association, emphasized that criminal defense directly impacts the significant rights and interests of clients, making such events crucial for enhancing the professional skills of young lawyers.

During the intense 10-hour competition, four lawyers showcased their professional prowess at StarLaw, relying on solid legal expertise, sharp logical reasoning, and exceptional courtroom advocacy skills. Among them, Attorney Chen Yujie delivered a particularly outstanding performance in the mock trial segment, earning unanimous praise from the judges for her compelling arguments as the defense attorney.

A panel of judges—comprising Han Zhe, Li Bin, Zhang Xiuqi, and Jin Hongtao from the Criminal Law Committee of the Beijing Lawyers Association, along with Bu Kaiming, Deng Xingang, and Yu Hong from the Criminal Procedure Committee—evaluated the contestants' performances using a professional perspective and rigorous standards. Ultimately, 10 outstanding participants were selected to advance to the city-wide finals: Yang Lan, Chen Yujie, Wang Bo, Han Yanyan, Zhao Xiang, Gao Yiqi, Ma Xinsheng, Song Lixiang, Zhang Haichuan, and Peng Meijia.

Following this, the judges provided comprehensive and detailed feedback on the contestants' performances. They thoroughly praised the participants for their diligent, meticulous approach and high level of professionalism, while also offering valuable suggestions for improvement to address areas where the contestants could further refine their skills—guiding young lawyers toward greater professional growth.

After the competition concluded, a grand award ceremony was held. Zhang Shiguo and Sun Ying, vice presidents of the Dongcheng District Lawyers Association; Yao Xiaomin, supervisor of the Beijing Lawyers Association; Mao Lixin, deputy director of the Criminal Law Committee of the Beijing Lawyers Association, along with Secretary-General Liu Limu; and Zhang Baifeng, secretary-general of the Youth Committee of the Tongzhou District Lawyers Association—among other leaders—presented awards to the winning contestants. Lawyer Chen Yujie took the stage alongside the other awardees to receive her prize, sparking thunderous applause from the audience and bringing the event’s atmosphere to a thrilling climax.

The successful hosting of the third regional qualifying round of the Beijing Youth Lawyers Criminal Mock Trial Competition provided young lawyers with a premier platform to showcase their talents, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.
